That shift in perspective became the idea behind our name and the starting point for our work.
Who We Are
Our Story
Overview has always been about getting closer.
Closer to a place you may never visit.
To a global issue that can feel impossibly large.
To a piece of history that exists only in fragments.
To an idea that hasn’t been built yet.
Overview grew from the meeting of two complementary backgrounds. Kristin brought experience in strategy, communications, partnerships and global impact. Tarik brought creative direction, filmmaking, visual storytelling and immersive media. Together, those perspectives shaped a studio that connects the thinking behind an idea with the way people ultimately experience it.
The studio began by experimenting with immersive storytelling and new ways of engaging audiences around culture, sustainability and social impact. Over time, that curiosity expanded into exhibitions, interactive experiences, narrative development, visualization and campaign strategy.
That combination continues to shape the work today: understanding what a story needs to accomplish, then finding the most compelling way to make it tangible, memorable and meaningful for an audience.

The purpose is simpler: help people see, understand and experience something from a different perspective.

Kristin Gutekunst
Co-Founder • Chief Executive Officer
Kristin is a strategist, executive producer and partnership builder working at the intersection of storytelling, emerging media and social impact.
Before co-founding Overview Collective, she worked across the United Nations system, including the World Food Programme, the UN SDG Action Campaign and UNICEF, helping pioneer new approaches to public engagement through virtual reality, augmented reality and immersive exhibitions.
As Executive Producer of UNVR, she developed global partnerships and produced immersive work shown across 20 countries. Today, she leads Overview’s strategy, partnerships and development — helping turn ambitious ideas into meaningful experiences built around audience, purpose and impact.

Tarik Mohamed
Co-Founder • Chief Executive Officer
Tarik is a creative director, filmmaker and immersive media producer working at the intersection of storytelling, culture and emerging technology.
With more than 15 years of experience across advertising, film, VR, exhibitions and experiential media, he has built a career around finding new ways to make ideas more visual, immersive and meaningful.
At Overview Collective, he leads creative direction across cinematic storytelling, historical interpretation, immersive experiences and visualization — shaping work that helps audiences see complex stories, places and possibilities from a new perspective.
