ABOUT
In September 2019, Overview Collective joined forces with Garage Stories to invite activists, artists, designers, developers and policy makers in New York to generate visionary ideas and build prototypes for how XR technologies can foster climate action and accelerate us towards a greener, more sustainable world.
StoriesXFuture has evolved into a virtual series and worldwide community, exploring how emerging media, art, technology and science intersect. We connect experts to decode scientific knowledge and explore how art and emerging media can foster positive impact.
Through participatory virtual experiences, we empower everyone to understand climate issues, and take part in architecting a better future. Our series explores the power of technology to discover unexpected ideas that are unique to each XR medium, while bringing together the brightest minds to actively architect a new future.
XR for Impact
Virtual Incubator
26 October - 24 November 2020
In this 5 week incubation program we'll unite XR industry, entrepreneurial and sustainability experts to help you create XR projects for impact, fostering real change for the Sustainable Development Goals.
Participants can apply as a team, or individually to be matched with participants of similar interests and complementary skills. All teams will receive support and guidance throughout the program including a series of masterclasses, methodological tools, access to a pool of mentors, and interactive sessions.
The program will close with a final pitching and pledging session, where industry leaders will commit to help projects continue in their efforts to reach their maximum potential.

Inspired by the June 2020 UN World Oceans Day's theme "Innovation for a Sustainable Ocean", we teamed up with Peace Boat US and Friends of UN World Oceans Day to celebrate our love for the ocean & those who protect it. In this episodic series, we explore cutting-edge technologies, and learn how to participate in ocean research and activism - even while at home.
Scientists and sustainability experts from Project Drawdown, the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences, NASA Oceans EXPORTS, and SpeSeas contextualize and decode the greatest marine challenges from the front lines while defining the innovations and technologies that are already transforming our world.
Independent artists, performers, activists and technologists from the Peace Boat US, Litterati, Mama Eco, and Yogi Beans will inspire you and invite you to join them in creating a more sustainable ocean.

New York City
September 2019
The first edition was organized in New York City from 13-14 of September in partnership with the RLab in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Over the course of 20 hours, 60 participants created 10 prototypes.
The winning team was invited to showcase at the “House of Solutions” during the Our Future Festival on Governor’s Island, and at the NYC Media Lab in Brooklyn New York.
Judges, mentors and speakers included representatives from NYCEDC, Our Climate, Publicis, Fridays for Future, Google, NYU Tandon, Stanford University, Games for Change, Two Goats, Tomorrow Lab, DepthKit, Looking Glass, Magic Leap.
